"Mr. Manus Nunan, who has died at his home in Castlewood Avenue, Rathmines, Dublin, was a former District Justice. He was 88. He was the son of the prominent Fenian, Patrick Nunan of Limerick, wh
o was identified with the Rising of 1868. Educated at Blackrock College and T.C.D., the late Mr. Nunan had his university studies interrupted by World War 1. He became an officer in the Royal Munst
er Fusiliers and was badly wounded at the battles of Passchendaele and Cambrai. He was called to the Bar in 1923 and served in the Irish Army legal service during the Second World War. After the wa
r he was appointed a District Justice. He was brother of the late Sir Joseph Nunan, a member of the British Colonial legal service, and is survived by his son Manus Nunan, Q.C., Who is Recorder of L
